Basic knowledge of disc plows

Jan 10, 2022

A disc plough is a tillage machine with a disc plough body as its working part. The disc plow includes a left arm housing, a left support arm, a gear box, a transmission gear, a meshing sleeve, a joystick, a sprocket box, a disc shaft and a disc plate. The disc is usually a part of a hollow spherical surface, and its edge is ground with a cutting edge to facilitate cutting grass and soil. The disc is independently supported on the bearing of the plough column. α and inclination β. Generally, on a standard disc plow, there are 3 to 6 disc plow bodies. When working, the unit moves forward, the disc rolls and cuts into the soil, and the tilled soil rises along the concave surface of the rotating disc and turns over to the side and rear, so that the soil is turned over and broken, leaving furrows after ploughing.

Disc plows are suitable for heavy, dry, rocky, and rooted soils; no frequent sharpening and replacement, low maintenance costs, and no solid trench bottom. Although the stubble coverage is not complete, it is beneficial to prevent water loss in dry land and salt return in saline-alkali land. When cultivating green manure fields, grass roots, rocky fields and sticky wetlands, it has stronger cutting ability than the share plow, good soil penetration, easy to remove soil and not easy to block.
