Choose according to the type (grade) of the road:
For the first- and second-level national trunk roads and special roads for automobiles, large vibratory rollers with a high compaction capacity of 6 to 10 tons should be used.
For roads below the third level, or infrequent compaction. In actual operation, it is best to equip about 2t of mobile and flexible vibration roller.
For cement concrete pavement, a tire-driven series vibratory roller can be used.
For asphalt concrete pavement, a fully-driven vibratory roller should be used.
For the bottom layer of high-grade pavement roadbeds, it is best to use tire rollers or tire-driven vibratory rollers for compaction to obtain a uniform density.
Static-acting light-wheel rollers can be used when repairing the road surface.
Choose according to the type of material being compacted:
For rock fill compaction, a large-tonnage roller should be used to displace large blocks.
For clay compaction, it is best to use a bump compactor roller.
For mixture compaction. In fact, it is best to choose a vibratory roller in order to blend the large and small particles uniformly.
For deep lamination, heavy-duty vibratory rollers should be used for slow rolling.
For shallow layers, static-action rollers should be used.
