Detailed explanation of the relevant parameters of the excavator

May 07, 2025

(1) The operating weight, as one of the three core parameters of the excavator, not only determines the level of the excavator, but also sets the upper limit of its digging force.

(2) The digging force, including the forearm digging force and the bucket digging force, is concentrated in the tooth root of the bucket, but the power source is different, the former is from the forearm cylinder, the latter is from the bucket cylinder.

(3) Grounding pressure, this indicator is measured by the formula "grounding specific pressure = working weight ÷ total area in contact with the ground", which directly affects the appropriate working ground conditions of the excavator.

(4) The choice of track plate is crucial, and for track excavators, priority should be given to using the narrowest track plate to ensure the best work efficiency.

(5) The walking speed occupies an indispensable position in the work of the excavator, usually, the two-speed design can meet the basic walking needs of the excavator.

(6) Traction force, as the key torque when the excavator is walking, mainly depends on the performance of its walking motor.

(7) The climbing ability reflects the stability and ability of the excavator when it climbs, descends or stops on the slope, usually expressed by Angle or percentage.

(8) Lifting capacity refers to the maximum weight that the excavator can stably lift or hydraulically lift under rated state.

(9) Rotation speed, in particular, refers to the average maximum speed that can be achieved by stable rotation when the excavator is unloaded. It should be noted that this does not include the rotation speed when starting or braking. In actual excavation work, the rotary motor will accelerate or decelerate in the range of 0° to 180°, and reach a stable speed in the range of 270° to 360°. Therefore, the actual desired turning performance is more accurately described as the acceleration/deceleration capacity represented by the available turning torque.

(10) The engine power is divided into two parts: total power and effective power, which together determine the overall performance and efficiency of the excavator.

(11) Excavator noise, mainly from its engine, is divided into two types: one is the noise measurement of the operator's ear, and the other is the noise measurement around the machine.Excavator
